arete Australia has successfully completed the delivery of Virtus Health’s new state-of-the-art fertility hub at 36 Wellington Street, Collingwood. This purpose-built facility consolidates Melbourne IVF’s East Melbourne operations into a single, integrated environment, enhancing patient care and operational efficiency.
Spanning four levels within a 15-storey commercial development, the new precinct brings together Melbourne IVF’s fertility services, IVF laboratory, and day hospital in one integrated facility. The fit-out includes a fully operational day hospital with patient admission and recovery areas, day theatres for procedures, and an advanced IVF laboratory with a direct dumbwaiter link to the theatre spaces. Additional features comprise a dedicated andrology laboratory, PCR and PGT laboratories, a liquid nitrogen storage facility, and an on-site pharmacy. Front-of-house areas feature consult rooms, reception and admission zones, along with commercial office spaces for Virtus Health’s operations.
The project was designed to support every step of the fertility journey, offering a seamless and patient-centric experience. The advanced laboratory, designed by IVF pioneer Professor David Gardner, incorporates the latest scientific innovations to optimise IVF and embryo development, aiming to deliver the safest, highest-quality care and continue achieving outstanding success rates for patients.
