arete Australia has been appointed on the design and construct contract for the development for Energy Queensland’s Operational Telecommunications Hosting Facility (OTHF) for the Operational Control Centre (OCC) in Rockhampton. Our team recently spent 3 days in Rockhampton getting to know the Energy Queensland team and beginning the detailed planning for this project.

The space is currently an empty building shell and once fitted out will provide a purpose-built facility to support this business-critical planning function for Energy Queensland. This project is required to cover all aspects necessary to transform the space into a fit-for-purpose tier 3 data hosting facility based on the “Uptime Institute” tier rating system.

A fit-for-purpose OTHF (data centre) is a prerequisite for the successful implementation of the Unified Distribution Management System (UDMS) across Energy Queensland.

arete Australia is looking forward to working closely with Energy Queensland and their consultants on this exciting project.
