In January 2021, arete Australia was awarded the $1.3 Million La Trobe University SEMS LAM Hub fitout project.
arete was engaged to convert and refurbish the existing office spaces and a laboratory on Level 1 of the Physical Sciences Building to create a new School of Engineering and Mathematical sciences (SEMS) at the La Trobe Advanced Manufacturing Hub.
The new fitout included:
- Demolition and removal of the existing offices and laboratory on Level 1
- Isolation and removal of any discovered redundant services providing a clean slate for the installation of new works
- Construction and fitout of the new wet and dry laboratory spaces
The project converts an existing office and laboratory space into a state-of-the-art facility that enables students and research staff to design, fabricate and test new materials and structures.
The project reached Practical Completion in May 2021.
