arete Australia was contracted to complete an extension for the Specialist Family Violence Courts at the Moorabbin Magistrates Court. The goal was to provide secure spaces for individuals experiencing family violence to receive assistance and legal advice in a safe and secure environment.
To achieve this objective, the project involved significant structural and civil works. Upgrades were made to pre-cast panels, post-tension concrete, reinforcement concrete, and civil works. Additionally, the electrical, communication, fire, hydraulic, security, AV services were also upgraded to ensure the safety and security of the occupants.
The fitout of the newly created spaces, which were located across the lower ground, ground, and mezzanine levels, included walls, ceilings, floors, and FF&E in Zones A and B. The works also included the installation of specialized fixtures and fittings to support the specific requirements of the family violence court.
During the project, arete Australia worked closely with the court management to ensure that there was minimal disruption to the court proceedings. The team implemented a comprehensive safety plan to ensure that all works were completed safely and without incident. The extension was delivered within the allocated budget and timeframe, and the end result was a safe and secure environment for those experiencing family violence to access the support and advice they need to move forward.
