In 2022, arete Australia was appointed the $18 million Construction Management contract for the Early Contractor Involvement and Construction of the Imaging Relocation project at the Old Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
The project involved the transformation of a 1,800 sqm space on Level 2 of the Smorgon Family Wing at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital’s On The Park facility in East Melbourne. A former University of Melbourne laboratory was meticulously converted into a cutting-edge medical imaging facility.
The newly established facility now features advanced imaging technology, including two MRI units, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, and Mammography, along with essential support areas such as a medication room, patient holding and recovery zones, Radiologist reporting suites, consultation rooms, a multi-disciplinary conference room, and patient waiting and administrative spaces.
