arete Australia has completed the new Hume Tech School at Kangan Institute’s Broadmeadows campus, delivering a purpose-built facility designed to provide students across Melbourne’s north with access to immersive, hands-on STEM learning.
The new Tech School was officially opened in August and will provide more than 20,000 Victorian students with free access to programs spanning renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, health technologies, robotics and automation. Students will have opportunities to develop practical skills through experiences including designing 3D-printed medical devices and building clean energy systems.
Delivered by arete Australia, the project included construction of the new Tech School and associated external works, together with car park, roadway and infrastructure upgrades across the Kangan Institute Broadmeadows campus.
The facility incorporates flexible and adaptable learning environments designed to support collaboration, experimentation and industry-connected education, with specialist spaces for presentations, fabrication, STEM learning and hands-on activities.
Hume Tech School is one of six new Tech Schools being delivered through the Victorian Government’s $116 million investment in STEM learning and will support students from schools throughout the Hume local government area.
